Share a CSSBuy Haul on Reddit Without Exposing Private Details

Prepare a useful public haul or help post while keeping addresses, order identifiers, payment records and private correspondence out of the images.

Your next step

Keep an original private evidence set and a separate redacted version for public discussion. Share what helps the question, not the account behind it.

The privacy policy describes this website. This note covers the screenshots and information you choose to publish elsewhere.

Decide what the public post needs to show

A sizing question may need the item measurements and your fit preference. A packing question may need the outer dimensions and a redacted contents list. Neither normally needs your name, postal label or payment screen. Start from the question and include only the fields needed to understand it.

Reddit’s official help page says personal information should be removed from screenshots. This also protects other people: a support conversation can contain a seller’s private contact, a staff member’s details or another customer’s information. Crop or redact those fields before publishing.

Create a public copy and check it at full size

Keep the original privately for an order query or claim, and edit a separate copy. Cover identifying text, barcodes and QR codes with an opaque block or remove that part of the image. Export the edited result and open that exported file to check it; do not assume a tiny preview reveals every readable field.

Inspect the edges, reflections, notification banners and browser tabs as well as the obvious label. A cropped shipping number can still leave an address in another corner. When a public product link contains an account or session parameter, use the public listing address rather than sharing the private account page.

  • Remove names, delivery addresses, phone numbers and email addresses.
  • Keep order, parcel, tracking and payment identifiers out of public images.
  • Cover labels, barcodes, QR codes and account notifications.
  • Remove private seller or staff details in chat screenshots.
  • Retain useful non-identifying context: item dimensions, selected variation and the exact question.

Make the post informative without claiming more than you know

For a haul report, separate item price from international shipping and say when the information was recorded. Describe whether the picture is a seller image, a warehouse reference or an item you personally received. If you have not handled the product, do not describe its durability or comfort as tested.

For a help request, describe the stage and the last event rather than posting an unredacted account screen. Community replies can suggest questions to ask, but cannot authorize a refund or verify your private account. Move the identifiers into the official support channel when a case needs investigation.

Verify delivery messages through a trusted route

A public post may be followed by unsolicited messages claiming to help with a stuck parcel. Do not hand over a password, a one-time code or payment details to a commenter. The FTC warns about package-message phishing and advises against opening links in unexpected package texts.

Independently open the carrier’s official site or the service you already use and check there. If a genuine action is required, follow the verified account or carrier process. A familiar logo or an accurate-looking tracking reference in a message does not establish who sent it.
